Thank you for choosing Sickles Custom Cues website. Please take your time looking at our site. There are many pictures within the site, and more added each week. Cue Maker, Jim Sickles became interested in cue repair in 1996 and purchased his repair lathe from Unique Products. Over time he became recognized locally as a premier Cue Repairman, and over time has become a premier Cue Maker as well. Jim Started out taking one piece bar style cues, and cutting them to make Sneaky Pete's. He immediately had several customers wanting to purchase this style of cue. As he started filling orders he quickly decided it was time to buy his first Cue Making Machine. As he created cues for clients, he also spent time researching all the intricate details of Cue Making. Jim would cut apart cues he created, just to see how they held up during assembly. He believes you can not learn, unless you see all aspects of the process up close. Cue Making is a very difficult talent, and he believes that not just anyone can master this challenge. He believes that every time he works on cues, he is learning more and more. Within his profession he has had the privilege to obtain insight from some of the most famous Cue Makers on the planet. He picks up on their little tricks and tips, most of which is not shared with anyone. There are a lot of Cue Makers out there today, and very few are willing to share any of their knowledge. Jim makes less than 25 cues a year, but feels like he makes a "Great Hitting Cue". With Sickles Custom Cues you will always get your moneys worth, and he will always be there for additional services. You have made the right choice with Sickles Custom Cues. Each cue order is taken with each player's specific needs, and ideas in mind, for both beauty and playability. As a Master player himself, Jim understands cue performance and playability. He enjoys answering questions and seeing the customer smile, whether you are a beginning novice player or a Pro. He has had the privilege to know several popular pros and does some of their repair work also. Jim likes to teach, learn and be challenged by unique design requests. The harder the cue design challenge, the better!
